Richard Jay Simon (Executive/Artistic Director) is excited to be returning home to South Florida. Directing credits include; Wrecks, A Body of Water, Talk Radio, Guest Artist, Thom Pain (Based on nothing), Glengarry Glen Ross, Rabbit Hole, Red Light Winter, The Elephant Man, Match, Oleanna, Amadeus, Art, BecauseHeCan, The Pull of Negative Gravity, Proof, Topdog/Underdog, True West, A New Brain, the Musical, A Shayna Maidel, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged, Cobb, Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, A Few Good Men, Blood Wedding, An Ideal Husband, Morphine Music Love, Blood Moon, Italian American Reconciliation, The Good Doctor, Down the Road, Fool for Love, Adaptation, Kiss Me Kate, Music Man, King and I, Fiddler on the Roof, Aladdin, Fatherland, and Actor's Nightmare. He has worked at Court Theatre, Chicago Dramatists, and Bailiwick Repertory in Chicago; Atlantic Theatre Company, Kitchen Theatre, Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Hangar Theatre, and Clark Theatre in New York. He received his degree in theater from Ithaca College and has also studied at Boston University, Hangar Theatre Lab Company, and Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. He has also written Scared Silent, Divine Intervention, Third Degree Burning, Razor's Edge, and Dark Truth.
Jon Saldivar (Associate Director) is proud to be part of the Mosaic Theatre team and has worked behind-the-scenes since the theatre's inaugural season in 2001. A professional playwright, Saldivar is the author of numerous works including the play Season of Youth, produced at the Courtyard Playhouse and Madison Avenue Theatre in NY. In 2003, Season was adapted to film, and has received honors at both the Boston and Palm Beach Independent Film Festivals. Working alongside Executive Artistic Director Richard Jay Simon, Saldivar helped to initiate the Tuesdays@Mosaic Staged Readings series, providing a venue for local playwrights to have their works read and critiqued by a live audience.
Linda Harris (Resident Stage Manager) is very pleased to be making her debut at the Mosaic Theatre Company. She has stage managed in all areas of the theatre. Off-Broadway credits include The Fantasticks, Entertaining Mr. Sloane, and productions at Circle Rep, the Actor's Studio, The Lucille Lortel Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre and The Village Gate. Regional credits include Florida Repertory Theatre, Arena Stage, The Philadelphia Theatre Company, Northern Stage, The State Theatre Company in Austin, Cleveland Play House, Seattle Rep, Dallas Theater Center, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC, Delaware Theatre Company, Philadelphia Festival Theatre for New Plays, Capital Repertory and NJ Shakespeare Festival.
Douglas Grinn (Technical Director/Scenic Designer) is proud to be designing at Mosaic theatre. He has worked in South Florida Theatre since 2000. His time at Mosaic started with building Elephant Man, and ever since has acted as Master Carpenter and Technical Director. He has also freelanced, designing and building for several local theatres. Some of his designs include 2008/9 national tour of Gilligan's Island - The Musical, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, Six Dance Lessons In Six Weeks, and The Sisters Rosensweig.
Matt Corey (Resident Sound Designer) is, by day, the Digital Production Manager at Insight for the Blind Studios in Fort Lauderdale, where he oversees the production of 100 Library of Congress "Talking Book" titles each year, for the blind and physically handicapped. Previously at the Mosaic Theatre, Matt has designed sound and composed original music for Talk Radio (2008 Carbonell Award), Guest Artist, Dirty Story, A Body of Water and Wrecks.
K. Blair Brown (Resident Costume Designer) K. Blair Brown's all fired up for a new season at Mosaic. She designed for Mosaic's 2007-2008 season, as well as 9 Parts of Desire and Glengarry Glen Ross from 2006-2007. She also designed for New Theatre, including the productions As You Like It, A Nervous Smile, Fill Our Mouths, For Better..., I Have Before Me..., and Melt. She's glad to be working again with such incredible talent at Mosaic. "Back again, the crew never left, but came back!"
